Overview
MockMate uses artificial intelligence in several core features. This page explains how AI is used, its limitations, and what you should and should not rely on it for.
Where AI Is Used
MockMate uses AI in the following areas:
- Custom exam generation: AI generates practice questions based on materials you upload and exam format preferences you specify
- SAT Performance Feedback: After completing an SAT practice test, AI analyzes your performance data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and study recommendations
- Practice prompts: AI suggests targeted follow-up practice based on skills you missed
- Explanations: Question explanations in AI-generated exams are produced by AI
How AI Feedback Is Generated
When you request AI feedback (for example, after completing an SAT practice test), MockMate sends your anonymized performance data — including question-level accuracy, domain scores, and module results — to an AI language model. The model returns an analysis of your performance, suggestions for improvement, and recommended next steps.
Your name, email address, and other personally identifiable information are not included in the data sent to the AI.
Limitations of AI-Generated Content
AI-generated content has inherent limitations. You should be aware that:
- AI feedback may be incomplete, inaccurate, or based on incorrect assumptions about your performance
- AI-generated questions may contain errors, ambiguities, or imperfect difficulty calibration
- AI study recommendations are general guidance and not a substitute for personalized tutoring or official test preparation
- AI models may occasionally produce confident-sounding but incorrect information ("hallucinations")
- Performance predictions and score estimates are approximations and should not be treated as definitive forecasts
Use AI-assisted feedback as one input among many study resources. Always verify important information from authoritative sources.
AI and SAT Practice Scores
SAT practice scores on MockMate are calculated using a proprietary scoring algorithm, not by AI. However, AI may reference these scores when generating feedback. These scores are estimates only — they are not official SAT scores and do not predict your actual SAT score with certainty.
See our SAT Disclaimer for more information about our SAT practice content.
AI and Custom Exam Questions
Questions in custom mock exams are generated by AI based on the materials and instructions you provide. MockMate does not manually review every AI-generated question for accuracy. You should review all questions and explanations critically, particularly in technical or specialized subject areas.
If you identify an error in an AI-generated question or explanation, please report it to ranvi.contact@gmail.com.
Data Privacy in AI Processing
Data sent to AI providers for processing is subject to those providers' data processing terms. MockMate does not use your exam content or performance data to train AI models. For full details on data handling, see our Privacy Policy.
No Professional Advice
AI-generated content on MockMate does not constitute academic, educational, legal, medical, or professional advice of any kind. It is provided for informational and practice purposes only.
